Bodegas San Valero: Monte Ducay, “Tinto Pergamino” Reserva 2006

Bodegas San Valero: Monte Ducay, “Tinto Pergamino” Reserva 2006

This blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Cabernet Sauvignon is said to age well for 2 or 3 years beyond its vintage. I am now trying this wine at 6 years, and it is still holding its own with strong dryness and good flavors.

The nose was rich with raspberry, cherry and oak. The palate brought raspberry, tart orange rind, vanilla, eucalyptus and jammy cherry. Delicious. This wine displays a very thick mouth feel giving it a substantial feel. It is also very dry with good structure. This offering by Bodegas is worth a try, but enjoy it immediately! Cheers!
