Acacia Vineyards: Chardonnay 2009

Acacia Vineyards: Chardonnay 2009

This Chardonnay from the Carneros appellation of California is a deliciously creamy wine that brings many palate elements. The complexity of this palate lets you discover new flavors as the bottle opens. It is a fantastic wine worth every penny.

The nose was was light but aromatic with citrus, butter, guava and fresh cut grass. The palate brought green apple, lemon, cinnamon, butter, toasted oak, honey and ginger. Wow, much to taste here. Despite all these elements, the structure fairs well. The more tart elements are dominant at the beginning with all the creamy and sweeter elements playing through from mid palate to the end. The finish was buttery with honey notes. As the bottle opened, the wine becomes even smoother and creamer almost like a Guiness is creamy, and the citrus notes mellow for a fantastic experience. I would even recommend using an aerator to enjoy this wine to the fullest. Cheers!
