Sainte-Croix La Bergerie: Syrah-Merlot 2010

This red blend wine from the south of France makes for a good all around wine with mild meals. It has smooth tannin with light acid that help bring the most out of the palate.

The nose was rich with pepper, egg coop and cherry. The palate brought cherry, currant, blackberry and raspberry. The finish was cherry and vanilla. Through out, the palate displayed good balance with smooth tannin and mild acid complimenting this light to medium-bodied blend. Once the bottle opened, a faint smokey oak came to both the nose and palate. Overall, this is a pleasant and mild wine to be enjoyed with mild foods. Cheers!
