Château Pipeau: Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 200808

Château Pipeau: Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2008

This Château Pipeau offering from the appellation of Saint-Emilion Grand Cru is made by traditional family techniques that go back three generations. Bringing forth tempting aromas, a delicious palate and a delicate finish, this 2008 Bordeaux is meant to be had young.

The nose is filled with qualities of the country: smokey burnt grass, moist earth, egg, and cherry. The palate follows this unique trend with delicious cherry, oak, blackberry, currant and vanilla. The finish is fantastic, long yet subtle with cherry, mineral and gooseberry. Overall, this offering brought good tannin, steely acid and fantastic structure all complimenting the subtle but flavorful palate. This wine might be a bit out of some peoples comfort zone for price ( $29.99 ), but it is well worth the price. Cheers!
