Plunkett Creek Vineyards: Overlake Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Plunkett Creek Vineyards: Overlake Sauvignon Blanc 2010

This Sauvignon Blanc from Plunkett Creek is a delightful wine with good balance of dry-tartness and sweet throughout the palate.

The nose was crisp with grapefruit and pineapple notes. The palate went sour-sweet yellow grapefruit, pineapple then back a mellow gooseberry. The structure was fairly good, considering how the palate does this playful back and forth teasing of will I be sweet or will I be dry and tart. The finish was long with tangy lemon balm and mineral chalk. The chalk was a nice neutralizer for this wine. Overall, this is a medium-bodied selection with smooth mouth feel and a good zesty palate. Give it a try. Cheers!
