The Cabernet grapes for this Jordan offering are grown in the appellation of Alexander Valley, long time know for its quality soil and climate.
The bottle poured of deep garnet into the glass. The nose was cherry, cognac and cassis. The palate was raspberry, black cherry and cedar. The finish was smooth and full of oak and black cherry. This wine displayed good structure, with a good mouth feel. Overall, this Cabernet Sauvignon from Jordan is not overpowering: it captured a good balance of flavor, acid and tannin that didn't try to do too much. This would be a great wine to pair the usual red meats with, as well as other more subtle foods. Cheers!
