Martin Ray Winery: Courtney Benham Petite Sirah 2008

Martin Ray Winery: Courtney Benham Petite Sirah 2008

Grapes for this selection were chosen from several Monterey County vineyards. Courtney Benham then blends these different grapes, cultivating their best qualities to create this handcrafted Petite Sirah.

The nose was pepper, cherry and eucalyptus. The palate was rich black cherry, black pepper, molasses, eucalyptus and faint green pepper. This palate combination was quite good: the combination of sweet fruit and pepper. The finish was cherry, oak and vanilla. As the bottle opened the wine is amazingly smooth and delicate. This a "subtle" Petite Sirah not to be missed. Cheers!
