Espuela Del Gaucho: Reserve Malbec 2008

Espuela Del Gaucho: Reserve Malbec 2008

Grown in vineyards high in the mountains of Mednoza, the grapes for the Espuela Del Gaucho Reserve Malbec yield rich and flavorful wine.

The nose was musty like a chicken coop in the country, wet grass and raspberry. This nose was quite different from other Malbecs, but it was also a nice change. The palate was vibrant blueberry, tart raspberry, black cherry and lime. Once again - the lime element is a surprise, and a pleasant one at that. The finish was blackberry, jasmine and gooseberry. Overall, this Malbec delivers a rich, complex palate with subtle variations from most others. And for it's price range, it's a find. I would definitely recommend this selection to any one who enjoys Malbecs. Cheers!
