Cambria Winery: Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2007

Cambria Winery: Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2007

Located on the Santa Maria Bench, Julian's Vineyard grapes grow with warm days and cool foggy nights as the ocean, just 15 miles away, introduces much air moisture. This combination of elements helps this Pinot Noir flourish.

The nose was ripe with cherry, pepper and oak. The palate was of cherry, musty earth, strawberry, cardamom and oak. The finish was soft and warm with elements of cognac strawberry and vanilla. A day 2 taste brings a nose of cherry and rich musty earth. The palate moved to cherry, wet grass, strawberry, cardamom and oak, with a finish of strawberry, vanilla and oak. Overall, this offering gave a mouth feel that was thick yet smooth while bringing a strong acid element with mellow tannins. Cheers!
