The Picket Fence Pinot Noir is grown in the Russian River Valley where consistent warm days and cool evenings create the ideal climate for growing Burgundian varietals. The result is a wine with all the fantastic flavors of Pinot Noirs and and unexpected smoothness.
The nose was vibrant with cherry, vanilla and apricot notes. The palate was soft and velvety with cherry, cranberry, vanilla, apricot-spice, cognac-spice and oak. The finish was smooth and mellow with good length. It produced cognac and oak notes. This cognac element was a great surprise to my palate, very subtle yet delicious. Overall, this offering gives smooth tannins and mouth feel that marry well with the soft palate. This is a find! Cheers!
