Pacific Rim: Autumnus 2008

Pacific Rim: Autumnus 2008

Autumnus is a blend of Riesling, Chenin Blanc, and Gewurtztaminer varietals. The result is a dry wine with lively citrus and spice notes.

The nose was of pineapple, guava, green apple and floral like jasmine. The palate was tangy-dry with lemon, guava, pineapple sweetness and tart apple spice like a cinnamon apple pie. The finish was long and spicy with lemon, apple, cinnamon and a hint of butter. This crisp, medium-bodied offering has piercing acids that are nicely tamed by all the flavors surrounding them. Pairing food with this selection should be done like pairing for a Chardonnay or a Viognier, which leaves many options open to you. Cheers!
