La Ferme Julien: Rosé 2009

La Ferme Julien: Rosé 2009

This "finesse" wine is a nice blend of Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah varietals to create a wine that is both dry and refreshingly fruity.

The nose was beautifully light with rose petal and grapefruit notes. The palate was cardamom, green apple, slight guava and lemon. This is again, a light, medium dry "finesse" wine that is very refreshing. The finish was of subtly tart green apples. A day 2 sampling of this wine brought a similar nose with the addition of cardamom. The palate was green apple, grapefruit, guava, lemon and a tangy cherry! The finish was lemon and tangy cherry. Believe it or not, this Rosé seems to improve on day 2. This wine will pair nicely with light dishes that won't overpower the delicate palate of this selection. And as strange as it sounds, this wine will pair nicely with the comfort foods of Pringles® or french fries, give it a try! Cheers!
