Famiglia Marrone: Barbera 2008

Famiglia Marrone: Barbera 2008

This Barbera is a finesse wine, well used as a table wine for everyday.

The nose was surprisingly woody, like wet wood, with cherry and currant notes in the background. The palate was very light, with simply cherry as the dominant flavor. The finish and tannins are light and brief. Overall, this simple palate and light tannins mate up well. As the bottle opened, the nose moved away from the wet wood to an earthy feel. The palate improved a bit with light cherry and a spice note of tarragon showing.
