Zinfandels are the main stay of Peachy Canyon, and after a taste of this offering, you will agree that they do them well.
The nose was raspberry, pepper and a faint peach. The palate was was big with currant, cherry, green pepper and vanilla. Strong tannins accompany these flavors. The finish was satisfying and long, with cherry and the big surprise, a cranberry note as well!
Once the bottle has a chance to open up, the nose remained the same with the addition of a strawberry aroma. The palate rounds out a bit more, with similar notes and a musty, earthy flavor joining the group. Cheers!
