This Meritage in comprised of 60% Cabernet Franc, 27% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot. It's a bit of a dark horse, but with some aeration, it comes better.
The nose was strong of alcohol with blackberry and cherry notes. The palate started out cherry, apricot with strong to medium tannins. The finish was smooth with cherry written all over it. As the bottle opened, the nose was dominated by cherry. The palate moved to currant, cherry, smoky oak and blackberry. Cheers!
