Echelon Vineyards: Chardonnay 2007

Echelon Vineyards: Chardonnay 2007

Echelon Vineyards creates their Chardonnay by blending different grapes form the central coast area. Each different grape contributes to their wine's special flavor and character.

The nose was light and pleasant of pineapple and lemon. The palate started with pear and green apple flavors. Then, a contrasting tangy, big acid note came in with cardamom and lemon zest. This is a refreshing wine with some good backbone. As the bottle opened the nose moved to pineapple, lemon and eucalyptus. The palate softened greatly to pear, green apple, cardamom and lemon zest all flowing together very well. The finish was crisp with a sharp lemon zest note. Cheers!
