Bogle Vineyards: Old Vine Zinfandel 2007

Bogle Vineyards: Old Vine Zinfandel 2007

The vines for this wine are dry farmed, aka, no water. With age and only natural irrigation, the vines are low yield, but produce concentrated fruit of unsurpassed quality and intensity.

The nose was blackberry, cherry, and oak. The palate was intense blackberry, cherry sweetness and oak with a hint of vanilla. The finish was long, filled with cherry and vanilla back and forthing. Once the bottle has a chance to open up, the nose more like blackberry and oak. The palate was the same, but the medium tannins and strong acid now had a chance to breathe and affect the flavor much more in a positive way. Cheers!
