Cline Cellars: Zinfandel 2007

Cline Cellars: Zinfandel 2007

The 2007 edition of the California Zinfandel continues to draw from an assortment of superb Zinfandel vineyards. With this variety, they are able to produce a wine with good variety in the palate without being too focused.

The nose was of cherry, sweet and soft. The palate was gushing with black cherry sweetness and dark fruit. The finish was smooth, medium sweet of subtle cherry and vanilla. Once the bottle has a chance to open up, the nose changes to cherry and maple syrup! I know that sounds strange, but it was maple syrup. The palate was cherry with subtle vanilla - the mellow tannins in combination with medium acid create a well balanced experience. Day two drinking of the bottle was great as well. This is a super consistent wine, even the next day! Cheers!
