Trader Joe's: Mendocino County Reserve Chardonnay 2006

Trader Joe's: Mendocino County Reserve Chardonnay 2006

This Trader Joe's offering might not sound appealing, but it does have a decent pedigree behind the scenes for the making of this light, refreshing Chardonnay.

The nose was of peach, pear and, believe it or not banana. The palate was of peach, pear, citrus in general and something almost like banana, but it wasn't distracting from the overall tasting. The surprisingly medium finish was of light oak and peach. Delicious. As the bottle opened a bit the palate changed slightly to just lemon and peach. This Chardonnay, for the money, is a good wine, especially with creamy sauce crab cakes and other seafood. Cheers!
