Merryvale Vineyards: Starmont Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 2005

This blended Cabernet Sauvignon consists of: 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14 % Merlot, 4% Syrah, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc. It is a delicious wine that is well rounded yet focused.

The first glass gives many aromas: ripe red fruit, cherry, cassis, musty-oak, even chocolate and vanilla. The palate is a focused black cherry with black current, vanilla and rich oak flavors. The finish is superb: long and tangy at first with a cedar and cigar finale. Cheers!
