Featured Malbec
Antigal Winery & Estates begins their wines with grapes growing in the Andes foothills. These grapes yield flavorful juice as they struggle to survive in the high altitudes. Beyond that, these grapes are carefully harvested by hand. The care and quality are not missed in the final product.
Grown in vineyards high in the mountains of Mednoza, the grapes for the Espuela Del Gaucho Reserve Malbec yield rich and flavorful wine.
Hailing from the high altitude region of Mendoza, in Argentina, this Malbec is typically rich in flavor while maintaining a smooth overall feel. And this selection is thankfully no different.
Often, a single grape wine is quite focused, but this 100% Malbec wine offers a good balance and variety in it's palate with an overall smooth drinking wine. Traditionally an Argentinian variety, this Californian grown Malbec, along with the wine maker, create a medium to soft finishing wine that has enough backbone to be paired with grilled steaks.
This wine is made from grapes harvested in Mendoza at the foothills of the Andes Mountains. The unique combination of excellent weather and soil characteristics of this valley allows grapes to ripen well naturally.
The nose was of subtle blackberry, light oak and earth like dewey grass in the morning. The palate was very smooth and soft, with blackberry and a tangy element of citrus. The medium length finish is tangy with hints of blackberry followed by tangerine - very good.
These low yield, hearty grapes from the foot of Andes grow in rocky soil, making the vine work hard to produce a strong grape with a bold palate.
The signature wine of Argentina, Malbecs have paved a path of success for this country in the wine community. This selection is a spicy one, sure to grab your taste buds.
