If you have had the chance to explore the gorgeous county of Italy, you have undoubtedly noticed the little red cocktail that the locals seem to be sipping on at all hours of the day.
It looks delicious – and is – but many first-time tasters are caught off guard by the dominating bitter flavor that defines this drink called Campari.
And while it may be difficult to keep up with the rate in which the Italians throw these back (my stomach got a little queasy around 4pm when I was about 15 cafés and 30 cocktails deep – and my local guide wasn’t even tipsy yet), there is no questioning the unique, refreshing quality of Campari. It’s no wonder the recipe for this Italian alcohol is still known to only one living man!
