Cold drinks, cool atmosphere, chill people and hot chicks? Why am I not in an ice bar right now?
Sweden’s Absolut, long known for its groundbreaking design and marketing methods, created the first ice bar in 1994. Since then the novelty of visiting a bar completely made out of ice has only seemed to heat up, with ice bars popping up everywhere from Tokyo to New Zealand. But which ones are worth shelling out the cash to shiver for a half hour with a truly ice-cold vodka in hand? Probably all of them, but we’ll give you are list of favorites anyway…
ABSOLUT ICEBAR, Stockholm, Sweden
Absolut’s Stockholm ice bar location recently underwent a transformation in style with the newly designed “Aquatic” theme in April. The beautifully sculpted ice from Sweden’s River Torne gives this bar an other-worldly feeling that jolts it to the top of our list. Just look at that jellyfish! This place is too cool.
ICEBAR CPH, Copenhagen, Denmark
Created by the masterminds by Sweden’s ICEHOTEL (that’s right – an entire hotel is made of ice), this Danish ice bar continues the “Purity with a Twist” theme seen throughout the ICEHOTEL. But was it the ICEBAR’s ability to replicate the beauty of its hotel predecessor that put it on our list, or was it their amazing promotional video embedded below?
minus5, Las Vegas, USA
There’s no better place to build an igloo than the Nevada desert… Just pay a visit to minus5 at the ultra-hip Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and you’ll find out why. And with another location recently opening just down the strip at the chic Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, minus5 is taking over the world’s greatest party city one ice bar at a time.
